Our school provides an alternative option for parents when they are making choices regarding their children’s education. Ookayama International School offers a distance learning program with full teaching support for Grades 6 – 12. Each program is designed to meet the needs of the individual student and is fully accredited through the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCACASI). The program follows the American High School system and is very useful to students who are planning on taking further education overseas.
Our school is small and will remain small as we are committed to providing one-on-one education and support to all our students.

Ookayama International School is a small school that is committed to the importance of small class size along with one-on-one tutoring support. After working in the international education field in Tokyo for more than 5 years, the founders felt there was a need for an alternative school for children who could not fit into the mainstream international schools available to them. The small size of the school enables us to give everyone a lot of individual attention and always keep the students focused on their work. This constant attention is one of the main reasons we have been able to help students succeed who were otherwise failing within a larger, more conventional classroom environment.
