Mobile SIM Cards

I'm coming to Tokyo for a few weeks. Can I just buy a SIM card in Tokyo from 7-11 type stores and use in my Hong Kong phone? If not what options do I have for mobiles for short period only

I think you can rent phones at the airport. As far as I know all phones here built sim cards.
