A Few Questions About Moving to Tokyo...

Will televisions from USA work in Tokyo? If not, what should we look for. What about PS2, xbox systems?

We will be house/apt hunting in May....are you allowed to hang pictures on walls w/nails?

Japan as the exact same setup power and plug wise as the USA. So your TV, PS2 etc will work here fine.

What I can't vouch for is the signal. Not sure if Japan uses the same TV signal. I expect they do but since I came from Australia I can't be sure. It is definetly the same broadcast system (NTSC). The Japan system is a carbon copy of the USA as far as I know.

However you wont be able to play Japanese bought games on your PS2, xbox etc. But there are plenty of import shops in Akihabara where you can buy US games for about the same price as the USA. I use to own a US ps2 and regurarly bought games in Japan via the importer.
