Relocation to Tokyo from Singapore

I am making plans to move up to Tokyo. I will probably enrol in a language school so I can get a student visa. The other things I worry about is the lack of a social network for me up there, and are there many international supermarkets around or is it just the little Japanese supermarts for my marketing? I do a lot of italian and Chinese cooking so it might be a problem?

Thanks for that! I'll bear that in mind. Is there any club or associations where wives/girlfriends of foreigners can come together and talk sh*t?

Thanks for the recommendation. I will be sure to contact her. I am starting to get the jitters about moving up and my partner seems to be working 20 hours a day so I'm a little uncertain about it now.
