Please can you recommend some good international schools.
I have 2 boys aged 6 and 4 years. They are English speaking, but would love them to also learn Mandarin.
What time do the schools start in the mornings and roughly what time would they finish? Do most of the schools have buses to collect the kids? Do the children wear school uniforms?
My son went to Dulwich College when we were living in Shanghai and we were happy with it. It started at 8.30 am and finished at 3.30 pm. Most schools will have school buses. Not sure whether all schools have a school uniform but DC does.
International schools will not teach enough Mandarin to really make it their own language. I would recommend a private school and put them in the bilingual programme. I am sure there are many in Shanghai. My husband taught at this one in Guangzhou. The students go half day in English and half day in Mandarin. The English curriculum is from Canada http://www.clifford-school.cn/eng/index.htm
You can try Smiling Star International Kindergarten in Pudong, Shanghai. They offer bilingual education from Singapore, English as the first language and Chinese as the second language. Just PM me i'll let you know how to contact them?
