To work or not to work

Hi everyone,
I wanted to know from mothers of their experiences with being new mommies and their desire to return to work after their ML. As I have never experienced motherhood and not sure what to expect, I am not sure what the general sentiment is among working mums to leave the baby at home. I know that returning to work is a subjective decision, all the same, I will appreciate if those who have returned to work can share their experiences of how they have coped.

it is completely different for each and every one of us.
i would LOVE to be able to stay home but we just can't afford it. so, i have no choice of whether i go out to work or not. i DO have a choice as to what kind of work/working conditions i will put up with. as such, i decided to tutor privately. i was recently presented with the opportunity to open a baby/toddler playgroup/tutorial centre(for older kids). i JUMPED at the chance. it means that i can set my own hours and even take my kids to work with me.

i have the best of both worlds.

forgot to say that no one has any idea how they will react to becoming a mother before it happens.

some women make fantastic stay at home mums. others are far better mums if they get their own space and are able to go out to work.

we all do the best we can given our own personal circumstances. none of us are better than the others, we are just different and as such we cope with the challenges of motherhood differently.

good luck! you will know in your heart when you have your baby and a few months together what is the right decision for your family.
