Hi, I want to buy a new laptop, mine seems to be a bit passed its sell by date now, after the 7 happy years that we have spent together:) I am a business user but dont need the absolute top of the range or the latest model. I really dont want to spend more than 10,000 HKD. Is this possible and which shop do u recommend that gives good deals in HK?? Thanks for your advice...
Wan Chai Computer shop! Don't buy Fujitsu, Aser, Asus they are not so good compare to their price! If u want use ur new laptop about 7 year again buy HP :) for just use in home and office can buy HP dv2000 if u traveler then u should buy tx1000
Good Luck!
Laptop recommendation: I have had 11 Thinkpads and a Dell. The "business" Thinkpads (X and T series) are solid and will not dissapoint. Their biggest strength is the software that comes with. Great little utilities to make life easier.
Computer shop recommendation: I had a great experience at Foresoon Computer in Sheung Wan (intersection of Des Voeux Rd Central and Wing Lok Str). Cary there is very helpful and knowledgeable.
I bought pretty "everything" apart from the computers themselves. Router, switches, 50m CAT6 cable, printer, power cables, transformers, power strips, speakers, UPS, video cable, HDMI cable, card reader, etc... I was down into specific models they didn't have in stock. All delivered exactly when I wanted it. They even got me speakers they didn't carry. They let me surf to newegg.com and I showed them what I wanted.
Unfortunately they don't carry Thinkpads but they can get them for you.
