holidaying in China from HK- without flying

I am unable to fly (high risk pregnancy)and am desperate to get away for a few days.

Apart from the obvious Macau, can anyone suggest other destinations a ferry/ car ride from HK. Will have our 2 yr old daughter in tow. Is there much to do at Mission Hills apart from play golf?

Not interested in Shenzhen for family etc, just not much fun!!

How about Xiamen? I've heard that there's a ferry leaving from Hong Kong every Thursday.
